Last week Norshipping's 50 year edition took place in Oslo. Main topic was the introduction of CMT's new Cat fines test.
Last week the 37. Motorship Conference took place in Hamburg. Main topic were the problems of operating different fuels and the switch over process as result of the latest MARPOL regulations. On the accompanying exhibition Aqua Metro Marine introduced their Diesel Switch. CMT presented all necessary testing equipment to allow their customers a worry free fuel switch over process. One important indicator is the compatibility and stability of the fuel mix - the fuel mix at least temporally cannot be avoided during the switch.
CM Technologies is going to participate in the Motorship Conference in Hamburg from 4th to 5th March. Dr. Frank Bernier will hold a lecture on "Fuel switching and low sulphur fuel/ultra-low sulphur fuel" (4th of March 12:55 pm). Interested parties can have a look at our products at our stand also located at the conference.
CMT successfully exhibited on this years Oil Doc Conference in Rosenheim, Bavaria from 27th to 29th January. Besides CMTs booth the speeches of Matthias Winkler and Dr. Frank Bernier have been an overwhelming success.
Mr. Winkler spoke about “Using vibration analysis to detect ineffective lubrication” and Dr. Bernier gave a lecture on “Iron – one of the key wear indicators for used oil analysis“

Ship owners not using scrubbers or alternative fuels like LNG and traveling in and out of the ECA’s now have to change fuels in the ECAs to ULSF or MGO. Although the fuels are kept separately and most of the operators avoid any blending of fuel on board they will face the fact that fuels get mixed in the pipelines, filters and fuel booster modules during the changeover period.
